Anna F. Cavnar is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on commercial and civil litigation and white collar criminal defense. Anna has handled a wide variety of matters, including in the areas of environmental and toxic torts, securities fraud, and breach of contract. 

Prior to joining the firm, Anna worked at a New Orleans-based civil litigation boutique. Anna entered private practice after working at the Orleans Public Defenders office for five years, where she handled numerous jury and bench trials and was part of the Special Litigation Division.  Anna previously interned with the Office of Legal Policy at the United States Department of Justice, and for civil rights attorney Robert McDuff in Jackson, Mississippi.

Anna graduated from Harvard Law School. She was captain of the winning team in the Ames Moot Court competition and served as an executive online editor for the Harvard Law and Policy Review.  She received her bachelor’s degree in English from The Ohio State University, summa cum laude.

Anna’s pro bono work has included representing prisoners alleging civil rights violations in Section 1983 litigation, representing The Innocence Network as amicus curiae in the Louisiana Supreme Court in connection with a client of the Innocence Project of New Orleans, and advising nonprofits in obtaining 501(c)(3) status.
